Congratulations to our 2022 VPP Print Competition Winners!

Every year, Vermont Professional Photographers compete in a photographic competition judged by trained jurors from around the nation! Their images are judged based on the Professional Photographers of America's standards for 12 elements of a merit image. Vermont High Level of Excellence

About the award:  The Gold High Level of Excellence Award is awarded to the VPP member based on Image competition performance. Six regular qualifying entries are required to be considered for this award, and a minimum of four entries must score 80 or above. The awards are based on the highest total score from the top four entries.

"A Robert Frost Moment" - Lori Simon

About the award:  This award goes to the highest scoring image of all five categories by a VPP member or a jurors' choice if two images receive the same highest score, scoring 85-100,  (Excellent, Superior, Exceptional)

About the award:  Any single image entry that scores 80-100 (excellent, superior, or exceptional) is eligible for a Court of Honor. These are juror choice awards of impactful images. To earn a Master Court of Honor, the entrant must hold a "PPA Master" degree.

Master of Photography (M.Photog), Master Artist (M. Artist), or Master of Wedding Photography (M.Wed.Photog.)

The George Read Memorial Award

"Brrrrmont" - Kelly Shulze

About the award:  Any VPP member's image in a Vermont setting is eligible for the George Read Memorial Award. The image may be a portrait, commercial, or pictorial, but must stress the natural beauty of the state of Vermont, its people, or heritage to be eligible.

VPP Creative Theme Award - Blue

"The Beauty of Croatia" - Sarah McGarghan

About the award: This year's creative theme was "Blue". VPP members may enter one image into the creative theme category that is not included in their designated print case of six images. The jurors select the image that best exemplifies and interprets the creative theme.

Best First-Timer Award

"Wedding Party is Thirsty" - Brian Farnum

About the award:  This award goes to the highest scoring image among first-time entrants.
